Flat die granulators are key equipment in industries like biomass pellet or feed processing. Following proper procedures is essential for both safety and product quality.

1.Before starting

Check that the power supply voltage is stable and the equipment is properly grounded.

Check that all lubrication points have enough oil. This is essential for extending the machine's lifespan.

2.Key points during operation

Always start without load. Let the motor run normally before slowly adding material. This avoids sudden overload.

Keep the feeding speed steady. Feeding too fast causes blockages; too slow reduces output. Watch the ammeter closely – a sudden rise in current usually means the machine is overloaded.

Regularly check pellet quality. Look for smooth surfaces and proper hardness. If pellets are loose or show excessive powdering, adjust the roller pressure or check the die for wear.

Control temperature carefully. Keep material temperature between 60 and 80°C. Too high causes scorching; too low affects pellet formation.

3.Shutdown and maintenance

Stop feeding material first before shutdown. Let the flat die granulator run empty for 2-3 minutes to clear out leftover material.

After cutting the power, clean built-up material and dust from inside and outside the machine.

Check the flat die and rollers for wear at least weekly. Replace them if badly worn. This is key for consistent pellet quality.

Following these steps ensures the flat die granulator runs safely and reliably. It also boosts productivity, lowers energy use, extends equipment life, and improves business results.
