Windrow compost turning machines are key machines in organic fertilizer production. They turn, aerate, and ferment compost piles. But because they work in tough conditions (high heat, high moisture, corrosive gases) and run hard for long stretches, they often run into problems that hurt production.

1.Track Movement System Failure

What's wrong: The track tension isn't right (too loose or too tight). The guide wheels or roller wheels are badly worn. Uneven ground or piles that are too hard make the tracks take uneven stress.

How to fix it: Adjust the track tension regularly, keeping it just right. Check and replace worn guide wheels and roller wheels. Make sure the turning area is level and keep hard objects away to protect the tracks.

2.Broken or Bent Turning Axle

What's wrong: Rocks, metal, or other hard stuff mixed into the pile jams the blades. The axle runs overloaded for too long, causing metal fatigue. Poor welding or low-quality materials make it weak.

How to fix it: Clear hard objects out of the pile before turning. Check the axle and blades for wear regularly; replace damaged blades quickly. Use high-strength alloy steel axles for better durability.

3.Bearing and Drive Part Failures

What's wrong: Not enough grease causes dry friction. Bearings wear out from long periods of heavy load.

How to fix it: Add high-temperature grease on schedule. Use heavy-duty bearings for longer life.

Most problems with windrow compost turning machines come from poor maintenance or wrong operation. Regular checks, timely greasing, and clearing out foreign objects can cut down breakdowns a lot, extend the machine's life, and keep your organic fertilizer production line running smoothly.
