How to judge whether the fermentation process of organic fertilizer production line is normal

To judge whether the fermentation process of the organic fertilizer production line is normal, we can start from the following aspects:

1. Temperature index

Range judgment: During the normal fermentation process, the temperature will show a certain change pattern. Healthy fermentation starts with a temperature climb to 50-65°C within 2-3 days. Slow heating hints at weak microbial activity (not enough starter culture or poor nutrient mix). Temperatures above 70°C kill helpful microbes.

Stability: Steady high temps (50-65°C) should hold for days or weeks. Wild swings point to uneven airflow, poor mixing, or unstable moisture levels.

2. Odor characteristics

Normal odor: During normal fermentation, the organic fertilizer production line will have a slight earthy smell or an odor similar to that of wine fermentation. This is the normal odor produced by microorganisms decomposing organic matter.

Abnormal odor: Strong ammonia smells mean too much nitrogen (fix your carbon-to-nitrogen ratio). Rotten odors signal oxygen shortage and anaerobic bacteria takeover.


3. Material appearance and texture

Color change: As the fermentation progresses, the color of the material will gradually darken. For example, from the initial light color to dark brown or black. If there is no obvious change in color, it may be that the fermentation is not fully carried out.

Texture change: The texture of well-fermented materials will become loose and easy to break. If the material is still sticky or there are many lumps, it may be that the humidity is not properly controlled or the microbial decomposition is not effectively exerted.

By comprehensively judging the temperature, odor, material appearance and texture, it is possible to more accurately determine whether the fermentation process of the organic fertilizer production line is normal, so as to adjust the production process in time to ensure the quality of organic fertilizer.
