In organic fertilizer production, the choice of granulation equipment directly affects production efficiency and operating costs. As mainstream equipment, the maintenance cost of Double Roller Press Granulator and Disc Granulator should also be a consideration when choosing a fertilizer granulator.

1. Complex equipment structure

The Double Roller Press Granulator consists of a frame, a feeding device, an extrusion sheeting device, a crushing and granulation device, and a grading and discharging device. The structure is relatively complex and there are many parts. During long-term use, the wear and failure probability of these parts is relatively high, and regular inspection, replacement and maintenance are required.

2. The mold is easy to wear

The roller of the Double Roller Press Granulator is in direct contact with the material during operation, and is subject to greater pressure and friction. It is easy to wear and needs to be replaced regularly, otherwise it will affect the granulation rate.

3. Labor and downtime losses

The equipment maintenance of the Double Roller Press Granulator requires downtime to adjust the gap. Frequent operation may lead to a decrease in production capacity.

1. Simple equipment structure

The Disc Granulator is mainly composed of a rotating disc, a drive device, a bracket, etc. It has a relatively simple structure, fewer parts, a relatively low probability of failure, and is relatively easy to maintain.

2. No mold replacement cost

The Disc Granulator does not need to replace the mold regularly like the Double Roller Press Granulator, which reduces the cost expenditure of this part.

3. Labor and downtime losses

The daily cleaning and lubrication of the Disc Granulator can be completed online, with short downtime and lower labor costs.

Selection Recommendations

Double Roller Press Granulator: Suitable for enterprises pursuing high production capacity (1-4.5 tons per hour), raw materials are powdered and low in humidity, and need to have sufficient budget for maintenance investment.

Disc Granulator: Suitable for small and medium-sized production lines that focus on particle roundness (such as high-end organic fertilizers) and raw materials with high moisture content (about 40%), and suitable for enterprises with limited maintenance budgets.

Overall, the maintenance cost of the Double Roller Press Granulator is higher, but the production capacity advantage is significant, while the Disc Granulator has low maintenance complexity. Of course, the specific maintenance cost will also be affected by many factors such as equipment quality, frequency of use, and maintenance. In actual production, enterprises need to combine the characteristics of raw materials, production scale, and long-term operation and maintenance budget to select the most cost-effective solution.
