Pellets made by ring die granulators—like organic fertilizer, feed, or biomass pellets—often face problems during storage, such as breaking, moisture absorption, or clumping. These issues hurt their physical quality and effectiveness. Using scientific storage methods can extend their shelf life and keep their hardness, strength, and nutrient stability intact.
1.Control Moisture to Prevent Clumping
The moisture content of pellets discharged from the ring die granulator should be controlled at 12%-15% (organic fertilizer) or below 10% (feed pellets). Check moisture before storage—re-dry if too high. In humid areas, use moisture-proof packaging or add desiccants.
2.Choose Suitable Packaging
Woven bags (breathable, good for short-term)
Woven bags with plastic lining (blocks moisture and dust, longer shelf life)
Ton bags (for bulk storage—use pallets to avoid damp floors)

3.Warehouse Conditions
Keep dry and ventilated: Humidity ≤65%, temperature ≤30°C.
Avoid direct sunlight: UV rays speed up pellet aging.
Store off the ground: Use pallets and leave 50cm gap from walls.
4.Stacking and Rotation
The pellet pile height of the ring die granulator does not exceed 3 meters (prevents crushing bottom layers).Follow "first in, first out" rule to avoid long storage.Check regularly—break up clumps if found.
5.Special Pellets Storage Tips
Bio-organic fertilizer pellets: Store in dark to protect microbes.
High-nitrogen fertilizer pellets: Avoid metal contact to prevent moisture clumping.
Feed pellets: Add antioxidants to extend shelf life.
