In compound fertilizer production, the rotary drum granulator effectively cuts down nutrient loss and boosts fertilizer use efficiency, thanks to its unique process advantages.

1.Low-Temperature Granulation

It uses low-temperature binding. Materials are evenly coated inside the rotating drum with a binder (like phosphoric acid or ammonium sulfate solution). This avoids nitrogen loss caused by high-temperature drying, increasing nitrogen fertilizer efficiency by over 15%.

2.Uniform Coating

Phosphorus is easily fixed by soil, and potassium dissolves in water and washes away. The rolling action coats and traps these nutrients inside the granule core, forming a dense outer layer. This reduces direct contact with soil.

3.Enclosed Production

The closed drum design, combined with internal lifters, mixes materials thoroughly and reduces dust. Paired with an exhaust gas recovery system, this can lower nutrient loss by 5-10%.

4.High Pelletizing Rate

The pelletizing rate reaches 85-95%. The resulting granules are round, strong, and resist breaking during transport and application. This reduces waste from re-processing and dusting. Compared to extrusion granulation, the particles are more uniform, leading to steadier nutrient release.

5.Compatible with Slow-Release Tech

The rotary drum granulator works well with slow-release coatings like sulfur or polymers. These coatings can be applied directly during granulation to control nutrient release. This cuts down losses from rain washing or microbial breakdown, making it ideal for high-end compound fertilizers.

In short, whether making standard or high-end slow-release fertilizer, using a rotary drum granulator significantly improves fertilizer efficiency. This helps farmers increase yields and profits, while also reducing environmental pollution.
